ALL I WANTED WAS RESPECT (poetry)
In the labyrinth of emotions, I roam,
The world's indifference, a bruise, a tome.
Each slight, each snub, a weight on my soul,
Emotional scars, beyond control.
I reached out for warmth, for a gentle embrace,
But found instead, coldness, in every space.
The world's careless whispers, like daggers they sting,
Leaving wounds unseen, a silent suffering.
All I wanted was just some respect,
Yet the world's cruelty, I couldn't deflect.
Emotionally battered, yet still I stand,
Hoping for healing, a helping hand.
So let us pause, and reflect on our deeds,
The power of kindness, to sow hopeful seeds.
In the tapestry of life, let empathy reign,
To mend the broken, heal the pain.
